MORE ABOUT ME
I came to enjoy wedding and lifestyle photography very naturally, as the gathering of friends and family, good food, and good wine are the things I care most deeply about in life. I will make myself available every step of the way leading to your wedding day, as I understand how precious and rare it is to have the whole family together.

My aim is to capture the things that may fade from memory as the years pass, creating imagery that is elegant and modern with a touch of nostalgia – documenting your most cherished milestones with a certain ‘je ne sais quoi.’
Bonjour, I'm Lydia

Traditional and Timeless Detroit Wedding

Olivia and Eric eloped to the courthouse in March of 2020, during the COVID pandemic. However, they chose to celebrate their love again with a formal yet intimate wedding and reception in March of 2023. Their vision for a traditional, timeless, and classic wedding with a touch of modernity was perfectly executed within the walls of The Grand Hall at The Detroit Institute of Arts, and I am forever grateful to have been a part of their special day.

Getting Ready at Shinola Hotel

The day began at the iconic Shinola Hotel here in Downtown Detroit, where Olivia and her bridesmaids put the finishing touches on makeup and hair, and Olivia put on her dress. Everything from her classic white dress with sheer sleeves, to the pearl beaded veil, completed her effortlessly elegant look.

After some individual bridal portraits, Olivia and Eric shared a first look prior to their ceremony. The emotions in the room were tangible

Michigan Wedding Venue: Detroit Institute of Arts

The Detroit Institute of Arts provided the perfect backdrop for Olivia and Eric’s celebration. The Great Hall, with its timeless architecture, hosted both the wedding ceremony and reception.  Olivia’s ceremony entrance was truly magical as she descended down the staircase of the Great Hall as the sound of live musicians echoed through the hall. Every detail of their wedding displayed the elegance and sophistication they envisioned – from the classic black bridesmaid dresses, to the white rose bouquets, and the elegant bow on top of the wedding cake.

One of my favorite details from their wedding reception was the table arrangement. In a room that can seat up to 300 people, it takes special care to make a wedding of 100 people feel intimate – and Olivia and Eric did just that. As someone who is passionate about spending time with family and friends sharing good food/wine and great conversation, I loved that Olivia and Eric arranged for a large family style table to serve as their head table, allowing them to be seated with not only their bridal party, but also their family and close friends.

Documentary Wedding Photographer

Documentary wedding photography is the best way to ensure that you never forget the look on your guests faces as they celebrate the love you and your significant share. One of the things I am most known for as a wedding photographer is my sensibility to beauty and ability to anticipate meaningful moments – both big and small – which creates the most stunning candid images.

During weddings, my style is discreet. As the day unfolds, I step back and hunt for the subtle moments that wouldn’t have caught your eyes otherwise, ensuring that your personalities shine through in every picture. If you love a gathering with friends and family, have a strong appreciation for design. architecture, culture, and some of the finer things in life, and are looking for a photographer who will fully capture the vision you have for your wedding and preserve the magazine-worthy moments of your day – inquire here.
